Carey Conner

Mrs. Conner, a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Visual Art Studies, completed her National Board certification in 2017 and currently onboards new elementary art teachers for the district. Ms. Conner is a lifetime learner and continues to participate in many unique, learning experiences, “My aim in teaching art is to create a space where the very rich dialogue of art and artistic expression can occur among students, being very deliberate to give heed to diverse perspectives that come with various experiences, ages or cultural differences.  Furthermore, I seek to assist students in developing the understanding that sometimes the profound experiences of life are extremely subtle, that they can be and are often missed, but if they are recognized they can be the most defining. Thus, I press students to critically observe their surroundings, their world, in order that they are aware of the energy that shapes their lives.”
