Mr. Salinas
Mr. Salinas graduated from Texas State University in 2015 with a Bachelors of Music, after graduating he pursued his Alternative teaching certification through Region 13. Currently, he is working towards his Masters Degree at Texas A&M University studying Education Technology and Instructional Design. He enjoys learning more about technology, playing tennis, and football.
Mr. Salinas se graduó de la Universidad Estatal de Texas en 2015 con una Licenciatura en Música, después de graduarse continuó su certificación de enseñanza alternativa en el Centro de la Región 13. Actualmente, está trabajando para su Maestría en la Universidad Texas A&M estudiando Tecnología Educativa y Diseño Instructivo. Le gusta aprender más sobre la tecnología, jugar al tenis y al fútbol.

Ms. Barrera
Hi! I am Ms. Barrera, currently teaching First Grade. I graduated from Huston-Tillotson in 2008 with a Bachelors in Education. I continued my education career by receiving my Masters Degree in Curriculum and Instruction. My favorite Theorist is Howard Gardner. He is an American developmental psychologist who believed in Multiple Intelligences. As a Teacher knowing how to target the various interests and learning styles of my students will help me plan engaging and effective lessons. I enjoy the learning, the exploring and the fun we have in the classroom! I also love Reading! You can go anywhere, learn about different backgrounds and exciting characters. I sincerely enjoy what I do.
¡Hola! Soy la Sra. Barrera, actualmente docente de primer grado. Me gradué de Huston-Tillotson en 2008 con una licenciatura en educación. Seguí mi carrera educativa al recibir mi Maestría en Currículo e Instrucción. Mi teórico favorito es Howard Gardner. Es un psicólogo del desarrollo estadounidense que creía en las inteligencias múltiples. Como maestro, saber cómo enfocarse en los diversos intereses y estilos de aprendizaje de los estudiantes me ayudará a planificar lecciones interesantes y efectivas. Disfruto el aprendizaje, la exploración y la diversión que tenemos en el aula. ¡Me encanta leer! Puedes ir a cualquier parte, aprender sobre diferentes fondos y personajes emocionantes. Ms. Gomez
Ms.Gomez was born and raised in Mexico. At the age of 10 her family moved to Austin Tx. where she completed all her education. She attended and graduated from The University of Texas at Austin in 2017 with a Bachelors of Science in Applied Learning and Development alongside a certification on Bilingual Education. As a student her favorite subjects were math, science, and reading. Yet, as a teacher she has discovered she loves all subjects and enjoys teaching them all. During her free time she likes spending time with her family as well as reading and drawing.
Ms. Gómez nació y creció en México. A la edad de 10 años su familia se mudo a la ciudad de Austin Texas, donde completó toda su educación. Ella asistió a la Universidad de Texas en Austin donde se gradu en el 2017 con una licenciatura en educación bilingüe. Como estudiante sus materias favoritas eran matemáticas, ciencia y lectura. En cambio como maestra se ha dado cuenta que le encantan todas las materias y disfruta enseñarlas. Durante su tiempo libre a Ms. Gómez le gusta pasar su tiempo con su familia, leyendo y dibujando.

Ms. Byrd
Ms. Byrd is a Huston-Tillotson graduate. Ms. Byrd began her teaching career at Blackshear Fine Arts Academy in 2006. Ms. Byrd has taught in a kindergarten and 2nd grade classroom and is currently teaching 1st grade at Graham Elementary. During her journey at Blackshear, Ms. Byrd created a Hip Hop Swag dance group for the after-school Prime Time Program. With great success, the students were able to design their own costumes, engage in fundraisers, and perform! Ms. Byrd spends her recreational time boxing and working out with her 10-year-old son.
La Sra. Byrd es graduada de Huston-Tillotson. La Sra. Byrd comenzó su carrera docente en la Academia de Bellas Artes Blackshear en 2006. La Sra. Byrd ha enseñado en un aula de jardín de infantes y segundo grado y actualmente enseña primer grado en la Primaria Graham. Durante su viaje en Blackshear, la Sra. Byrd creó un grupo de baile Hip Hop Swag para el programa Prime Time después de la escuela. ¡Con gran éxito, los estudiantes pudieron diseñar sus propios trajes, participar en eventos para recaudar fondos y actuar! La Sra. Byrd pasa su tiempo recreativo boxeando y trabajando con su hijo de 10 años.
